Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd officially launched the Matrix Miyawaki Forest Programme at Adcote Matrix International School in Sendayan as part of its “Green Matrix” sustainability initiative. The project aims to strengthen biodiversity conservation by creating a living conservation forest dedicated to protecting Malaysia’s threatened and endangered native tree species.

Using the Miyawaki afforestation method, the initiative focuses on developing a diverse native forest ecosystem rather than simply increasing green coverage. The forest will serve as a future seed bank for rare and endangered tree species, preserving valuable genetic resources to support future forest restoration and conservation efforts.

The programme involved collaboration with strategic partners including the Negeri Sembilan Forestry Department, Malaysian Nature Society, Joshua Rayan Communications, and Trigofarm Landscape. The initiative also saw participation from 163 Matrix employees and Adcote Matrix International School students, highlighting collective efforts between corporate, education, and community stakeholders in promoting sustainability.

The Matrix Miyawaki Forest Programme represents Matrix’s long-term commitment to building sustainable communities by integrating nature conservation into township development. Beyond planting trees, the initiative creates a living ecosystem that protects endangered species, supports future forest restoration, and educates the next generation on environmental responsibility.
